My first con that I went to was ACen 2007... and my first cosplay was Wizard World Chicago 2007... It thrilled me to be the only Ocelot cosplayer there
My first con was at NDK 2005, I had just moved to Colorado where I meet a group of people that were really into anime. When I can they didn't even recognize me because I was new at the school. Most of the first con that I went to was wondering around with people and going into the room, oh and you can't forget the NDK drama! The group that I kind of meet there was an odd bunch, lol. They were always at each others throats and stuff like that and yet they still hung out, I'll never understand that. So in the end it wasn't that much fun cause everyone was fighting but I went back the next year just because I loved seeing all the of the crazy people dressed up as anime people and the dealers room is my friend!! ^-^
I, being a total nerd, love all aspects of the San Diego Comic-Con, and conveniently live in San Diego.
I guess my first experience with it technically was when my cousin's ex-boyfriend took me there with them when I was but a young girl and effectively screwed me up for life. :3
Then in the 7th grade my dear friends got 4-day passes, and it was beautiful. I cosplayed for the... first time (second time if you count the Halloween disaster), as Mamimi from FLCL, but it didn't turn out well. My sailor collar was icky. This year, my friend who got our tickets in the 7th grade came back from Washington just to go with us. I went as my first DECENT cosplay, Tales of the Abyss' Fon Master Ion, and she was Tales of Symphonia's Fujibayashi Sheena. We both had our first photoshoot and even though it was small, it was pretty neat. It was really a ton of fun and it's got us both working on more cosplays and wanting to go to an even wider array of cons.
I've no clue what about this mess is so appealing, but I'm an addict.
AniZona 3 in Arizona was my first con! :O It was sooo disorganized, panels were being changed right and left, I was ditched, and the security was yelling at people! But, besides all that, it was so great! I went as KH2 Riku and got my picture taken like a million times x3 I got glomped and knocked over by a crazy fangirl too! The only thing was that I was REALLY shy, so I didn't get to make a whole lot of friends while I was there, but I made a few!...But yeah it was fun :3
In 2005, I got my dad to drive me to Anime Expo. He was really cheap about it and wouldn't buy a pass for the day. So he kept asking people who were leaving if they'd give us their badges. I don't think we got any, but he kept heckling the staff and he's in a wheelchair, so they sort of took it...His assistant kept making fun of everyone cosplaying too. It was pretty bad. I wanted to go back so I could experience it with people who actually wanted to be there, because it looked fun enough. The next year, when I went three days, I loved it.
Manifest 2006, I cosplayed as Luffy from One Piece with a few of my friends 8D It was... cold. I wore his vest thing open and just used double sided tape... I can't really remember what happened, except being in line because we didn't know 'pre-register' existed haha
